The Grange Care Centre is a charming, welcoming and friendly residential nursing care home in the beautiful village of Stanford in the Vale, close to Faringdon in the heart of Oxfordshire. Our peaceful surroundings reflect the environment at The Grange perfectly, as a place where every resident and team member is treated with compassion, support and respect.
Our accomplished care team provides 24-hour nursing care, either on a short-term respite care basis or over the long-term, specialising in adult care provided by our superb nursing and support staff who bring decades of experience in delivering true person-first care.
Resident’s accommodation at The Grange is varied and diverse, with 40 individual rooms and four double bedrooms for couples who wish to remain close, most equipped with en-suite WCs and basins for convenience and comfort.
All of our residents here at The Grange are actively encouraged to personalise and furnish their rooms, bringing colour, familiarity, and belongings that add touches of home to ensure the space is relaxing and features all the special possessions that matter most.
Alongside our extensive accommodation, The Grange features a number of bright, airy day rooms for socialising, dining, entertainment and other activities, with options for residents to catch up on their favourite sports teams, TV series or movies in the company of friends and family.
As a nursing care home, we provide a comprehensive range of services, focusing on elderly care, adults with complex needs, and those living with physical disabilities that mean they need practical support and assistance.
Our 24-hour nursing team is approachable and reassuring, supported by GP cover and services from end-of-life care and continuing care to emergency admissions and support with postoperative recoveries and rehabilitations.
Care services at The Grange are complemented by a vibrant, engaging and fun activity and social calendar, always customised to the preferences, wishes and needs of each individual, from enjoyable BBQs and garden parties to quiz evenings and arts and crafts themed sessions.
Routines provide stability and reassurance, and we organise beauty treatments at our salon, outdoor walks around our beautifully landscaped gardens, seasonal day trips out and about, and visits to the local area to remain active in the community.
Meals are a central focus of every day and add value and enjoyment to our residents. The Grange Care Centre is delighted to partner with Apetito, providing fresh, nutritious and balanced meals that taste as delicious as they look.
Apetito is a specialist care home catering provider, harnessing the expertise of nutritionists, chefs and dieticians to blend flavour and texture with the perfect macronutrients and vitamins for optimal well-being, catering to all dietary needs and personal preferences.
We provide award-winning custom dining for those with specific diets and can ensure every mealtime is a pleasure while adhering to care plans and health conditions as necessary.
Visitors, prospective residents, companions, family and loved ones are welcome at The Grange Care Centre, and we love the opportunity to showcase what we do and how we make a difference to the happiness and contentment of our valued residents.

I visit a resident with his wife, I believe The Grange to be very well run. The patients are listened to and treated with dignity. The staff are always welcoming.
I have nothing but complete praise and satisfaction. All carers were kind and helpful, without exception, always having time to talk and explain
I visit my relative frequently and over the months have got to know the wonderful team of nurses and carers. I cannot praise them enough, she is happy, safe and very well cared for.
The managers and staff are friendly and the whole place is extremely well run, with regular entertainment, good food, excellent maintenance and cleaning.
Every moving-in day is preceded by a thorough, professional and conscientious assessment process conducted by our skilled team to ensure we have the resources and skills required to deliver the highest standards of nursing care to every person considering our care home.
Before any transition, we believe it is crucial new residents feel supported, and we work diligently to organise seamless, stress-free transitions with minimal disruption to important routines, but with every opportunity to explore, settle in, and meet fellow residents and care team members with interests and hobbies in common.
We acknowledge that your choice of care home and nursing support may be complex, and we are always happy to assist or offer guidance, whether you or a loved one are following a pathway such as:
People are at the heart of every care home, and as a nursing care provider, we base all our services on understanding, inclusivity and warmth. We are proud to have built an exceptional reputation, and as such, often have waiting lists with rooms available in very short supply.
Please let us know as soon as you are able if you would like to express an interest in The Grange, and we will endeavour to find a convenient time to offer a guided tour and a chat with our manager or a team member to help you navigate the process.
We respect and support the personalities and interests of every resident while offering group and social activities or one-on-one alternatives to ensure our residents are mentally and physically stimulated and have a wealth of options to choose between.
While many of our residents require practical assistance, we tailor our care to ensure residents can visit the local village shops, plan an evening out at the cinema, participate in a quiz afternoon, or simply relax, unwind and watch their preferred series in the privacy and comfort of their private room.
Among our calendar of events and entertainment, we regularly schedule:
Of course, one size does not fit all, so we work hard to encourage residents to let us know if we can add something that appeals or organise a special celebration to ensure occasions and milestones are honoured.
The Grange delivers meals on our sun-soaked terrace in the summer months, and tea parties are a highlight, along with religious services and observances, to ensure each individual can practice and observe their faith, culture and religious beliefs.
We understand that entrusting your care, or that of a loved one, is reassuring with the knowledge that every team member, from our care assistants to registered nurses, support colleagues and visiting therapists, are screened and vetted to the most rigorous standards.
Residents can indicate any preferences they may have around the gender of personal care providers, and we are committed to maintaining our outstanding quality across the care home to ensure care is safe, personalised and respectful.
The Grange Care Centre offers a full array of practical and companionship services:
Here at The Grange, we combine in-house facilities and amenities with external entertainers and keep residents engaged and active with a barber and beauty salon, a fantastic library of movies, series and books, a fast internet connection, computer games, and social spaces such as our dining room and lounge which overlook the gardens.
Private rooms are all bright, airy and modern, with specialised bathing equipment as required, with other areas around the care home such as a secure, tranquil patio, quiet and comforting reading nooks, and wide-screen TVs.
As Home Manager at The Grange Care Centre, I am proud to lead such a caring and dedicated team. With over 20 years of experience in social care, and having grown up in a village myself, leading a care home rooted in village life feels genuinely special to me. I joined Forest Healthcare in February 2026, and my approach has always been the same: to ensure every person in our care is treated with the same warmth and dignity we would want for our own families.
